Bonny Eagle Pond

Bonney Eagle Pond is a heavily developed pond located on the town line between Standish and Buxton. The pond's extensive shallows and weed beds provide excellent habitat for warm water fish species. Largemouth bass were illegally introduced into this pond. They are feeding extensively on the white perch and growth at present is excellent. The Maine Department of Fisheries and Wildlife introduced black crappies into the pond in 1985. Fishery biologists have not yet confirmed whether the crappies have established a self-sustaining population in the pond.
